When last we left our hero, the vessel I was escorting had flown inside one of the hydrogen spheres of a station and was banging around inside. I completed the first phase of three missions and was on the last mission of the four-mission second phase, an escort mission. So, I've been working on this Diplomatic Aid mission. Well, not to me, although I can now see how it might be entertaining to an outsider.

The session today was a shitshow of WTF'ery, but not in an entertaining way. I'm going to make getting a station set up my primary focus from here on out, so that data is going to be invaluable. Also, thank you for posting the locations of the shipyards. I went through the guide you recommended and I had figured out about 90% of what it had to share, but there was still some good information in there. I'm not actually sure which stations (other than the one you get from the plot, & not in a non-plot game) manufacture the drones, because once you have Trade Agents everywhere they'll show up in "Offers" on the Trade menu if they're available to buy (so you don't need to know where to look, Trade Agents Forever comes in handy here).Ībout 'Ships', these are classified as either "Trade" or "Fight", the "Trade" ships are usually lightly armed, are prey to random Pirates, but are mostly safe from attacks from factions who dislike you (unless they really dislike you, or the Skunk happens to be In-Zone ), whereas "Fight" ships are not prey for Pirates, but get attacked by your enemies, & generally don't have a "Cargo" hold, just the 10k m^3 "Fuel" Hold.Īll great advice, thanks Solomon. This lets you buy them from manufacturing stations, then equip them on your ships yourself, rather than having to sell them to a Shipyard, then get the ship dealer their to equip them for you. Regarding Drones (for your CapShips), these are in perrenial low-stock, which makes them good trade goods when you can find them, however, one good thing about them is that a "Trade" CapShip (& possible one of the "Fight" ones, which I'll sblock info on below, I haven't checked) can buy them as trade goods, then "transfer" them to or from another of your ships as "equipped" drones. However, Shipyards, each System has (I think, & with 1 exception) just 1 each of the "Capship" & "Small ship" Shipyard Stations.Įach System has ships that it sells, which are mostly influenced by which factions are there (The Teladi Outpost sells Teladi ships, the Omicron Lyrae sells OL ships, etcetera), though the range of smaller ships offered will be smaller without the additions being made in Patch 4.0 (I'm not assuming the additions have been finished), this is especially important when buying Construction Vessels as which one you have limits which stations you can choose from to build with it, & which resources those stations will use in both construction & operation [also, CVs are single-use, they become (essentially) a part of the station you build.įields of Opportunity : Serpentine Haze : Verdant Profit : TU Shipyard Strike that, sorry, I was going through from the top, & was just creating a wall of text that kept being made redundant by the next thing I read, so I'll just hit a few high points, & suggest you ask about specific things that occur to you (I'm not proving very good at this am I? )
